How To Care For Your Eyes

The Eyes are no doubt one of the most essential, and surely there are ways we can have a conscious effort in caring for them.

Here are a few tips on how we can care for our eyes even without going to the health clinic, or hospital…

The first, simple, and foremost you can do is rinse your eyes with fresh and cold water many times a day.

This will help to clear all the dust particles from your eyes, make them more refreshing and wash all tiredness from your eyes that have been caused due to prolonged use of gadgets, driving, and exposure to the sun.

2) Eat Healthy Food

Be sure to have plenty of dark, leafy greens like spinach, kale, and collard greens. Eating fish that are high in omega-3 fatty acids — like salmon, tuna, and halibut — is good for your eyes, too.

Maintaining a well-balanced, healthy diet is key to keeping your eyes healthy, and may help reduce your risk of developing eye conditions. Serious eye conditions may be avoided if you include foods that contain a range of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals, known as antioxidants. Some example of best food for the eyes include:

  • Fish
  • Orange
  • Almonds
  • Egg
  • Diary
  • Carrot etc..

3) Quit Smoking

Smoking isn’t just bad for your lungs — it can hurt your eyes, too! Smoking increases your risk of diseases like macular degeneration and cataracts — and it can harm the optic nerve.

Smoking marijuana can also contribute to some vision problems. The best way to avoid harm to your vision or reduce your risks of vision issues is to quit smoking. Long-term studies have suggested that quitting cigarettes allows cells in your eyes to slowly repair themselves, so risks of certain eye diseases go down over time.

Stay Active

Being physically active helps you stay healthy. It can also lower your risk of health conditions that can cause eye health or vision problems — like diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.

Get involved with some routine exercise, jogging, yoga, etc..

5) Wear Sunglasses

Protect your eyes from the sun by wearing sunglasses — even on cloudy days! Be sure to look for sunglasses that block 99 to 100 percent of both UVA and UVB radiation.

Make use of safety glasses and goggles as well.

6) Give Your Eyes A Rest

Looking at a computer for a long time can tire out your eyes. Rest your eyes by taking a break every 20 minutes to look at something about 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Protecting your overall health can go a long way toward keeping your eyes healthy! It’s important to make healthy choices and take good care of yourself.

Keep in mind that healthy habits like eating well and being active can lower your risk for diseases and conditions that can lead to eye or vision problems, like diabetes or high blood pressure.

Hope This Helps!
